New website! we have decided to give ourselves a little face lift!
New releases will be coming later this year from: Dada, Mastiksoul, Crazy Love, Felix Baumgartner, Stafford Brothers, The Drill and many more...
We also welcome into the fold a new label manager Alistair Albrecht.
Since it’s creation in 2000, Destined Records has forged a worldwide reputation as
a dance music label equally capable of delivering the best in underground house
cuts, big club floorfillers and massive crossover hits.
The label was set up by producer Matt Schwartz, as an outlet for his prodigious talent,
allowing him to express himself freely across various styles and genres without the
constraints of label politics and commercial pressures. The results have been
staggering with Matt delivering a constant flow of cutting edge and forward
thinking projects that have continually pushed the boundaries of electronic
music. Projects such as The Drill, 4tune500, Deepest Blue, M’Black, and Dada
have all enjoyed global success, ensuring that Destined Records counts luminaries
such as Pete Tong, Tiesto, Tiga, Paul Van Dyk, Deadmau5, Steve Angello, Axwell,
Sebastian Ingrosso, Grum, Erick Morillo, Judge Jules, Michael Gray, Eddie Halliwell
and many more among it’s fans.
Label founder Matt Schwartz has spent his life immersed in music and in the
early 90’s moved to London, the centre of the burgeoning electronic music scene.
With his degree in music tech and sound engineering, Matt soon focused his raw
talent and passion for perfection, leading him to work with the likes of Farley
Jackmaster Dunk and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels before moving on to work with
household names such as Massive Attack, Mica Paris and Arthur Baker. He also
produced and developed new artists, helping them secure record deals before
deciding in 1998, to turn his attention to his own career as an artist.
He bought a small studio and in 2000 Destined Records began setting
dancefloors alight across the world.
Destined records has continued to grow at a rapid rate, with Matt’s creative
force always pushing it forwards. The Drill for example, maintains an aura of
‘cool’ that few can match and 4tune500 has rocked discerning dancefloors from
Ibiza to Singapore and beyond. Matt’s most successful act so far however ha
been Deepest Blue which, with the help of MOS, has achieved two UK national
top 10 hits and an album that sold over a quarter of a million copies.
Another key highlight from the label’s history is Dada featuring Sandy Rivera
and Trix, a record that cleverly incorporated obvious commercial appeal int
a cutting edge house track and subsequently triggered a major label bidding war.
Destined has set high standards over the last 10 years and the aim is to surpas
those standards as the label continues to grow, while maintaining the professional,
yet free thinking and creative ethos that has worked so well to date. Ultimately,
Destined is moving towards a point where it becomes completely self-sufficient;
able to deliver the sharpest new tunes from the deepest corners of the underground
or effectively crossing over huge club anthems into the mainstream consciousness.
Either way, the new tracks coming from The Drill, M’Black, Crazy Love and Antarctica,
Destined Records remains a hotbed of cutting edge creativity and musical innovation.
And that’s good news for dancefloors everywhere…
